Summary of Position:
Milton Academy seeks Teaching Fellows with a concentration in English starting the summer of 2026 to participate in the Independent School Teaching Residency master's program in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. To support our boarding student population, campus housing will be provided for fellows.
The Penn Fellows will teach a reduced load (two sections of English in year one, three sections of English in year two) while they complete their graduate coursework, and will engage with Milton’s residential life community and co-curricular and/or athletics programs. They will be mentored by an experienced member of the faculty in the English department and will have a cohort of Penn Fellows in their first and second years with whom they will share and strategize about their successes and challenges.
With an innovative and comprehensive curriculum designed specifically for independent schools’ unique settings, the program features intensive on-site sessions in combination with collaborative online learning.
Interested candidates must apply online. Accepted candidates will be required to complete an online application to the UPenn Graduate School of Education no later than May 1.
