Summary of Position:
This is a seasonal position beginning in late May and ending in early August. The Activity area leader will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging, age-appropriate programming each day. The activity area leader will have experience leading children in various activities, and ideally experience in a summer camp environment. The activity area leader is enthusiastic, self-motivated, creative, and flexible.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Activity Specialists are responsible for initiating and implementing a program within a particular program area. These program areas could include but are not limited to: science, sports and games, arts and crafts, gardening, acting, nature/wildlife studies, technology, robotics, performing arts, archery, etc.
Will work in tandem with counselors to provide meaningful, enriching programming for campers
Work with the camp administrative team to plan daily and weekly activities within their activity
Communicate regularly with Camp Director in regards to supply and support needs, scheduling, and any camper issues
Responsible for keeping their work spaces clean and ready for each class period
Use weekly supply budget to maximize programming
Be willing to assist with any additional camp needs
Be present for weekly staff meetings
Supervision to be received: Reports directly to the Summer Camp Director
Supervision to be exercised: Direct supervision of campers
Experience Preferred: Must be at least 18 years old. Previous experience working at a summer camp or similar leadership roles with children.

Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated computer proficiency, including GoogleSuite, Microsoft Word, and Adobe.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies.
Understanding of confidentiality and related issues.
Receptive to supervision and professional development.
Desire to be a part of a dynamic educational community.
Physical Abilities
Required:
Must be able to work at a computer for up to 8 hours each day in conjunction with OSHA requirements.
Must be able to move around the Milton Academy campus without restriction.
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
