Summary of Position:

Milton Academy is in search of an Assistant Alpine Coach for the 2024-2025 school year. The Alpine program competes in the Independent School League (ISL) and is a member of the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC). The Alpine program has a tradition of excellence and has competed at the highest of levels throughout New England. The assistant coach will assist with all aspects of the Alpine at Milton Academy.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in leading the Alpine program and comply with the institution, NEPSAC, and ISL protocols

  • Assist in designing and implementing practice plans under the direction of the head coach

  • Assist in recruiting and retaining prospective students for the program

  • Follow all safety practices and Academy policies as outlined in the school’s Student Handbook and Coaches Handbook, including the policy against hazing and bullying

  • Other duties as assigned

Supervision to be received:

Position reports to the Director of Athletics.

Supervision to be exercised: None for this position.

Education/Certification/Licensure

Required: Must have a valid driver’s license

Preferred: Bachelor's degree

Experience

Required: A minimum of three years of proven experience in Coaching

and/or experience working with cross country athletes at the high

school or college level

Preferred: Experience working in an independent boarding / day school

  • Ability to perform multiple concurrent tasks and function in a fast-paced working environment.

Physical Abilities

Required:

  • Occasional lifting, bending, and climbing stairs

  • Frequent talking, listening, walking, sitting, and standing

  • Must be able to move around the Milton Academy campus without restriction.

  • Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.

  • Must be willing and able to drive students in a Milton Academy vehicle to and from games/practices
