Summary of Position:
Milton Academy is seeking a part-time Assistant Athletic Trainer in Milton Academy’s Upper School for the 2025-2027 academic years, working 20 to 30 hours per week.
This is a two-year position for sabbatical coverage starting August 18, 2025. The position includes prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of all athletic injuries and medical concerns and works closely with the head athletic trainer, strength and conditioning coach, team physician, school physicians, health center staff, athletic director, and coaches. Hours are generally 3-6 pm Monday-Friday, and Saturday for game coverage. Winter season will require additional night-time coverage for ice hockey practices.
Competencies
Required:
Proficiency in medical documentation
Proficiency in communication with coaches, parents, Health Center, Athletic Trainers, Doctors and specialists, Athletic Department and other school personnel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated computer expertise, including proficiency with injury documentation, Google docs, Microsoft Office, Concussion software.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies.
Understanding of confidentiality and related issues.
Receptive to supervision and professional development.
Desire to be a part of a dynamic educational community.
Supervision to be received: Head Athletic Trainer
Supervision to be exercised: N/A
Education/Certification/Licensure
Required: A bachelor’s degree, NATABOC Certification, Massachusetts Allied Health Professional License, CPR/AED certification
Preferred: A master’s degree
Experience
Required: 1-3 years of Athletic Training experience
Preferred: Experience working in an independent boarding / day school
