Milton Academy is an independent college preparatory K–12 school, boarding and day in grades 9–12, located just outside of Boston.

Summary of Position:

Duration: June 10 to August 2 (opportunity to extend to August 9 if candidate is available)

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Summer Intern to join our team and assist with various office tasks, internet research, event management, and client check-ins. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment while contributing to meaningful projects and initiatives.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with general office tasks including filing, data entry, and organizing

documents.

  • Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and phone

Calls.

  • Coordinate event supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Assist in department moves and organizing classrooms.
  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and potential clients.
  • Compile and summarize research findings into clear and concise reports.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for business development and growth.
  • Support the planning and execution of campus events, rentals, meetings, and

workshops.

  • Coordinate logistics such as venue selection, catering, and audiovisual

Requirements.

  • Assist in creating event materials, including signs, scheduling, agendas, and

presentations.

  • Work with internal vendors and stakeholders on execution of services offered.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with existing clients through regular weekly

Check-ins.

  • Coordinate client meetings, including scheduling and preparing necessary

materials.

  • Provide exceptional customer service and address client inquiries and concerns

promptly.

  • Other duties as assigned

Reports to the Director of Campus Services and Events Supervision

Education:

Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program.

Competencies

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Google drive, Docs, Sheets and web searches
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexible schedule, weekend availability with advanced notice
  • Some prior experience in office administration, customer service, or event

management is a plus.

  • Enthusiasm for learning and willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated computer expertise, including proficiency in Google Workspace,

Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external constituencies.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and related issues.
  • Receptive to supervision and professional development.
  • Desire to be a part of a dynamic educational community.

Physical Abilities

Required:

  • Must be able to work at a computer for up to 8 hours each day in conjunction with

OSHA requirements.

  • Must be able to move around the Milton Academy campus without restriction.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Stand for extended periods, kneel, squat, and

Move freely up and down stairs.
